In May 2005 we started air conditioning installations and have installed split system air conditioners in to many houses and units. Customers now want a lot more in their house then they did 22years ago, and we have had to complete a lot of additional training to change with the times. Hi my name is John Reynolds, and my wife Debbie and I started Smithfield Electrics 22 years ago. My specialty was domestic houses and units and I worked by myself 7days a week in most cases 10 to 12 hour days or longer, while my wife Debbie helped in the office, picked up materials and looked after our house and children. Around 6months after I started I soon had enough work to support myself and an apprentice, so I employed my 1st apprentice and soon after other employees. In our 22 years we have completed electrical and communications on thousands of houses and units and Smithfield Electrics is currently one of the largest employers of electrical, communications and refrigeration workers and apprentices in North Queensland.

Master Electricians is a program that accredits experienced electrical contractors who are committed to delivering the highest standards of quality, electrical safety, energy advice, and service integrity. 
To become Master Electricians, Smithfield Electrics underwent a stringent safety and quality audit provided by the Electrical and Communications Association (ECA). We will also be monitored, including undergoing compulsory annual audits, to ensure that we maintain and uphold the Master Electricians standard.
